Dora Toys from Nickelodeon Review
I recently received the two Dora items, shown above, from Nickelodeon for review. Well this just happened to be perfect, as my niece's little girl is the perfect age for the Ready for Potty Dora Doll and cute petite-sized Ballerina Dora Backpack! They could not have sent two more appropriate items for little Joanna, who you'll see soon, to enjoy.
First up is the Nickelodeon Dora Ballerina Mini Backpack
This little gem is perfect for youngsters! It features Dora on the front, in her little ballerina outfit and is trimmed at the top with little satin curtains, if you will. It is very easy to unzip and has adjustable back-straps in a very pretty blue color, that contrast nicely with the pinks and purples. The pack is made of polyester material and is lightweight - only 1 oz. It has just one main compartment, but is perfect for little ones to carry their snacks, toys, school items, and more. The size, weight, and design are perfect for any little girl.
And the other great Dora item Nickelodeon sent is the Ready for Potty Baby Dora Doll.
This cute set is all about helping toddlers learn how to go potty. Baby Dora comes with a sippy cup, a potty seat, and a storybook about her first time using the potty. She also comes complete with double batteries that allow her to speak and sing. Of course, Dora is bilingual, so you will hear her speak both Spanish and English.
Give baby Dora her sippy cup and then press the button on her chest to hear her ask to go potty and then sing a song of celebration once she has succeeded. What a great example of encouragement to use in conjunction with her story book, as you teach your little girl how to use the potty. Ready for Potty Dora is a great training tool and so much fun!

So we gave these toys to little Joanna right after her nap and she got busy! Of course, she enjoyed opening and closing the backpack and putting things inside of it! Plus, she can store her gear in her little backpack for when she goes to visit her great grandma's house - her favorite place to be when away from home. Now once she heard Dora sing, it was time to drop the backpack for a little while and see what all Dora could do. While Joanna was excited about Dora, I think her mommy was even more pleased. Her mom has 3 kiddos in diapers right now and Joanna is the most eager to learn - James is not too interested in the concept yet and little Nathan is still a wee little baby. With this Ready for Potty Dora Doll Set, potty training can be fun for Joanna and easier on mom!
We were really happy with all of the Dora items we got to try and the only thing I can say that is not glowing about any of them, it can be a bit tricky to get Dora situated on position on the potty where she will not tip over. Once you find the right balance, you can duplicate it and she will stay put. Even little ones get the hang of it after watching a couple of times and trying it for themselves.
The Dora Mini Ballerina Backpack can be found on ebags.com and amazon.com and is priced at approximately $12. The Ready for Potty Dora Doll can be located on the Fisher-Price website, Target, Amazon and other great retailers and is typically priced at about $25-$35.
A big thank you to Nickelodeon for creating such a great character like Dora and giving our children fun ways to learn and explore with the Dora products you bring to us!
